BILLINGS – Still on track for rain and snow showers late Wednesday night through Friday morning.

Mountain snow is already started into the ranges west of Billings, with rain showers likely around Livingston and the surrounding area Wednesday. Otherwise, expect increasing afternoon clouds with highs in the 40s west of Billings, and 50s from Billings to the east.

Showers will increase from west to east this evening and overnight. Lows will drop to the 20s and 30s with areas of rain and wet heavy snow.

The Beartooth, Absaroka, and Crazy mountains could receive 1 to 2 feet of snow with 6 to 12 inches in the mountain foothills.

Billings will likely see a rain/snow mix with some accumulating snow possible especially in the grassy areas and perhaps Thursday night through Friday morning on some of the streets and sidewalks.

Areas east of Billings are more likely to stay with rain or a rain and snow mix with lighter accumulations.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… Mostly cloudy with a high near 55. Isolated afternoon and evening showers.

Wednesday night… A chance of rain during the evening, and then a rain and snow mix would light accumulations possible overnight. Low of about 32.

Thursday… Morning snow showers with rain or a rain/snow mix in the afternoon. High near 39.
