BILLINGS – Both the temperatures and the chance of rain will move up and down over the next few days.

Temperatures will warm to the mid-to-upper 50s Thursday but fall slightly below seasonal averages. Increasing afternoon clouds bring at least the chance of a shower or thunderstorm.

While storms will be very hit-and-miss, some could produce pockets of heavy rain, gusty winds, or small hail.

Friday is looking warmer and drier. With sunshine, highs will reach mainly the 60s.

Behind a cold front, temperatures back off to 50s and low 60s again Saturday, with scattered showers once again in the mix.

Billings forecast

Thursday…Increasing clouds with a high of about 58.  West wind 10-20 mph.  a 40% chance of afternoon and early evening showers or thunderstorms.

Thursday night… A low near 37.  A slight chance of evening storms, then mostly to partly cloudy.

Friday…Sunny to mostly sunny with a high around 67.
