Q2 Weather: Here comes the rain and cooler temperatures

BILLINGS – The change in the weather starts today.

Our warm and sunny afternoons will be gone, as rain at cooler weather pattern dig in. High temperatures Thursday will be mainly in the 60s with a few low 70s. Temperatures will trend warmer northern Wyoming.

Very heavy rain and hail are possible this evening. Strong to severe storms with damaging wind and hail are possible with rain generally decreasing overnight.

Friday starts off in the upper 40s to 50s, and warms to the upper 50s to low 60s. Overall, the best chance of rain is Friday night through Saturday.

Saturday will be especially cool, with highs only in the 40s and rain. Sunday and Monday will likely make the low 50s with clouds and at least the chance of rain showers.

Billings forecast

Thursday… Increasing clouds and an increasing chance of rain and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. Some of the storms could be severe with damaging wind and hail. Heavy rain is a threat. High near 68.

Thursday night… Winds increase 15 to 25 mph rain and area thunderstorms are likely through the evening. Some storms could produce heavy rain. Rain decreases to showers overnight. Low of about 52.

Friday… Cloudy with a high near 61 showers very likely with a chance of a thunderstorm.
