Q2 Weather: Cool and wet for the weekend and beyond

BILLINGS – There is an extended period of cool and wet weather ahead of us.

A definite change in the weather pattern today, with highs mainly in the 50s. A few low 60s are possible through southern Montana northern Wyoming.

Expect clouds with area rain showers often on throughout the day. A few thunderstorms could develop, but unlikely any strong to severe storms.

Overnight temperatures will be dropping down mainly into the 30s, and some areas will see snow mix in with the rain, or some accumulations of light snow in the lower elevations. Snow is likely for the mountains and higher hills.

Saturday will be the coolest day in the short-term, with most of the temperatures staying in the upper 30s to mid-40s. Periods of rain showers continue.

Highs will stay mainly in the upper 40s and 50s Sunday and Monday, with periods of rain or snow showers.

Friday… Rain likely, with an afternoon thunderstorm possible. About 58 for the high. Northerly wind 5 to 15 mph.

Friday night… Rain showers, with a low of about 38.

Saturday… More rain and very cool. A high near 44.
