BILLINGS – Mainly sunny with warm temperatures, but that is not all that is going on.

Dry weather continues over the plains Thursday, with a few scattered showers and thunderstorms over the mountains. Daytime highs will be well into the 70s with some low 80s.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible somewhere in the area from Friday all the way through Monday. The best chances of rain are Friday afternoon and evening, and again on Monday.

Still some area flooding concerns as snow continues to melt from the mountains filling streams and creeks. Be aware of high and fast-moving waterways and use care.

Also, smoke from Canadian wildfires could create a haze over the next couple of days.

Temperatures will stay above seasonal averages, with highs mainly in the 70s Friday. Saturday, Sunday and Monday expect afternoon readings in the upper 70s to mid-80s.

Billings forecast:

Thursday… Sunny with a light Southwest wind. High of about 80.

Thursday night… Clear to mostly clear with a low near 54.

Friday… About 75 for the high with increasing afternoon clouds. A chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.
