Q2 Weather: A look at the week ahead

BILLINGS – June rolls in with warm temperatures those late afternoon pop-up thunderstorms.

Temperatures will remain above average through Thursday. For the lower elevations, highs will be mainly in the 80s and lows in the 50s. Do not be surprised if a few readings in the low 90s are reported.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected Monday afternoon and evening, and a little less active Tuesday.  The best chance of showers and thunderstorms is Friday from Billings to the west, and Saturday in the eastern plains.

No major flooding concerns, but streams creeks and rivers are running fast and high with bank erosion a concern. Use care!

Billings forecast:

Monday… A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Otherwise, Sunny, with a high near 89. Westerly wind 5 to 15 mph.

Monday night… A 20 percent chance of evening showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 59. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday… Sunny, with a high near 84. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph.
