BILLINGS – A daily chance of thunderstorms is expected through the weekend. Wednesday is the exception.

A high-pressure ridge is bringing warmer and drier conditions Wednesday along with light winds. High temperatures will be mainly in the upper 70s to low 80s.

As the system breaks down on Thursday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms will start to develop during the afternoons and evenings each day through early next week. Storms will be those hit-and-miss, generally afternoon and evening storms.

The chance of strong to severe storms with damaging wind and hail appears low.

Temperatures will be the warmest on Thursday and Friday, with Thursday afternoon highs hitting the mid-80s and mid to lower 80s on Friday. Highs over the weekend will be mainly in the mid to upper 70s with lows in the 50s for the lower elevations.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… Sunny with light winds. A high of about 81.

Wednesday night… Increasing clouds with a low around 57.

Thursday… Mostly sunny with a high of about 86. A chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.
