Q2 Weather: Showers and thunderstorms keep popping up

BILLINGS – A series of disturbances brings a chance of showers and thunderstorms each day through early next week.

Friday will be the most active day for showers and thunderstorms in the short term. The Storm Prediction Center has flagged much of northern and Eastern Montana for the potential of storms with heavy rain and gusty winds.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible across the entire area Friday. Otherwise, expect a mix of clouds and sun with highs in the 70s to mid-80s.

Saturday and Sunday will be less active with scattered isolated showers and thunderstorms. Overall, temperatures will be slightly cooler with highs in the 70s to about 80, and lows mainly in the 50s.

A 20 to 30% chance of late day showers and thunderstorms continues early next week, with the best chance of damaging storms Tuesday.

Friday… A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise partly to mostly cloudy with a high near 83. Westerly wind 5 to 15 mph.

Friday night… A chance of evening showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy overnight with a low of about 56.

Saturday… Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise, partly to mostly sunny and around 78 for the high.
