BILLINGS- Scattered strong to severe storms, and warming temperatures highlight the rest of the week.

Temperatures will trend upward through Thursday, reaching highs mainly 75 to 80 Tuesday afternoon. By Thursday, highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

At the same time, the amount of moisture in the air will increase. This will allow stronger storms to develop as the week progresses with large hail and strong winds possible, along with areas of heavy rain.

A gusty easterly wind on Wednesday and Thursday will help draw more moisture into the region.

Billings forecast:

Tuesday… Mostly sunny early with increasing afternoon clouds. A chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. High near 79.

Tuesday night… Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the evening. Becoming mostly clear overnight with a low around 53.

Wednesday… 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon increasing during the evening hours to 50%. Partly to mostly cloudy with a high of about 81.
