Q2 Weather: Severe thunderstorms Wednesday evening

BILLINGS- A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 10 PM for portions of Montana and northern Wyoming.

Large hail and gusty winds will be the primary threats as scattered thunderstorms develop in the foothills, move through Billings between 3 PM and 7 PM and push eastward during the early evening.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Patchy fog after 3am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 56. East wind 5 to10 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming east southeast 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
