It is the weekend of the Big Sky state games and it looks like the organizers, for a change, will actually have some comfortable weather this year for the games.

The temperatures for this weekend are not expected to be too obtrusive, mostly 70s and 80s, and right now in the early afternoon on Friday it’s 78 degrees in Billings.

Around the rest of the state, temperatures are a little cooler out in the West with mostly upper 60s to low 70s, while in East we are seeing mostly 70s with a couple of places in Wyoming reporting 80s.

Our thunderstorm Outlook for today does show a few isolated thunderstorms possible in the Southeast and Northwest corners of the state.

In the early afternoon on Friday, we are seeing a little mid-level moisture moving into south-central Montana, which could pop up some thunderstorms later this afternoon and tonight.

We also see a few spotty thunderstorms up in the Northwest corner of the state by Kalispell right now.

Everywhere else we are looking at mostly sunny skies today. The thunderstorm Outlook for Saturday shows most of the rain leaving the state and heading into Wyoming.

In the meantime, the high-resolution forecast shows some mid-level moisture streaming right up the Yellowstone Valley heading toward Billings.

This could bring us some isolated showers around 6 p.m. this evening. However, we think these will be very spotty. It looks like Saturday will be mostly dry right through 10:30 p.m.

The temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 70s through the evening and drop back down to the upper 50s in the morning and back to the mid-70s tomorrow afternoon.

However, after this weekend we are expecting to see a warming trend, one that will take us into the 90s Monday through Thursday.
