Q2 Weather: Mild start to the weekend

BILLINGS – A few stray thunderstorms could rumble through the area.

A few isolated thunderstorms passed through southeast Montana Thursday evening.

The Billings area picked up 0.05 of an inch of rain around midnight.

A strong to severe thunderstorm blew through Carter County early Friday morning producing an unconfirmed tornado near Capitol.

Expect isolated thunderstorms in extreme southeast Montana on Friday night and early Saturday morning.

A stretch of mostly sunny and dry weather begins Saturday. Mild daytime highs will give way to summer heat early next week.

The forecast for Billings

Today: Mostly sunny, a light northeast breeze and a mild high of 81.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, a 20% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms and a low of 53.

Saturday: Sunny and mild with a high of 79.
