BILLINGS — Good morning.
We start off a brand-new year with high pressure the dominant factor today that will keep us nice and dry. We’ll also see temperatures well above normal, pushing into the low to mid 40s this afternoon. This warming trend will continue through the weekend with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows will also stay well above average, hovering around 30° here in Billings alone.
Weekend winds will be an issue as gusts could clock well over 30 mph (maybe 60 mph in some spots), so keep that in mind if you’re out and about.
Another disturbance coming out of the west could kick up showers Saturday afternoon into the evening and even on Sunday, but only going with a 30% chance of precipitation at this point. If you’re looking for snow this weekend, head on over to the western part of the state where they could see well over a foot in the higher elevations.
On a personal note, from my family to yours, Happy New Year and many blessings for 2021 and beyond.
Keep smiling!
Miller
