BILLINGS — Good morning and TGIF!

Record cold is possible again today and tonight. A Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect for most of the area through this morning along with a Wind Chill Warning for Wheatland, northern Rosebud, Custer, Fallon and Carter, but both could be extended into the weekend.

Expect highs this afternoon to stall in the single to lower teens below zero with lows tonight in 20s below zero if not colder. We’ll be staying very cold on Saturday with highs in the single digits below zero. Saturday night could see lows into the 20s below zero again.

A warming trend begins Monday and continues into next week. Billings will get above 0° for the first time since this past Saturday. By mid-next week, we could get above the freezing mark.

Warm moisture from the Pacific continues to overrun the arctic air that is blanketing the area. This will allow for a chance for periods of light snow through tonight. The southern mountains and foothills will have a better shot at accumulations of 1-2”. Drier conditions settle in for the weekend.

Keep smiling!
