BILLINGS — Our next spring snow storm is taking shape.
Tuesday will be a bit warmer but cloud cover will hold high temperatures to mainly the mid-to-lower 40s. A few rain and snow showers will develop through the day.
Cold air arrives Tuesday night and lingers Wednesday producing heavy mountain snow that will mostly affect areas closer to the mountains to the west of Billings. Areas around Red Lodge, Big Timber, Livingston, and Columbus should all feel the effects, with Harlowton to Judith Gap dealing with snow and blowing snow.
Areas east of Billings could see light snow. The entire area will be held to mainly the 30s for highs Wednesday.
As the snow tapers off, gradually warming weather will build in for the weekend.
Billings forecast:
Tuesday… Cloudy with a high near 45. West wind 10 to 20 mph
Tuesday night… Rain and snow scattered during the evening, then light snow overnight. Cloudy with a low around 31.
Wednesday… Snow early with rain and snow to follow. High near 38.
