BILLNGS — Winds continue to highlight the weather Thursday, but dry and warm with less wind on Christmas.

Strong wind gusts around Big Timber, Harlowton and Livingston will continue today occasionally hitting over 50 mph. Around Billings, winds of 35 to 45 mph are possible.

The wind is aiding in a warm-up with highs mainly in the 40s for both Thursday and Christmas Day with some low 50s and southern Montana northern Wyoming expected. Billing should be close to 50 both days.

Winds will decrease Thursday evening through Friday morning. Expected decrease in clouds from West to East on Thursday, with clouds increasing again Friday afternoon.

Highs will still get the 40s on Saturday with increasing clouds. There is a chance of rain Saturday with scattered snow showers Saturday night through Sunday morning. This could cause some slick roadways early Sunday.

Billings forecast:

Thursday… Decreasing clouds with a high near 50. Westerly winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts as high as 45 mph.

Christmas Eve… Mostly clear with a low around 33. Winds continue to be gusty through the evening.

Christmas Day… Increasing afternoon clouds with a high near 48 westerly wind 15 to 25 mph.
