BILLINGS — Scattered thunderstorms with gusty winds accompany hot temperatures and low humidity Thursday.
Temperatures will still be hot, but lower than Wednesday with readings mainly in the mid to lower 90s. Expect more readings in the upper 80s to mid 90s through the weekend and into early next week.
Despite some clouds, the relative humidity is still low. As moisture streams over the area today, some thunderstorms could develop gusty winds but do not show much promise for measurable precipitation. The best potential for storms is from the mid-afternoon through early evening especially north of Billings.
Clouds will decrease somewhat through the day on Thursday with a mix of sun and a few clouds over the next few days. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will develop each day, but Thursday has the best chance of strong severe storms.
Billings forecast:
Thursday… Decreasing clouds with a high close to 90. Scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
Thursday night… A chance of a shower thunderstorm in the evening, otherwise partly cloudy overnight with a low near 62.
Friday… Sunny and very warm with a high of about 91. A 30% chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.
