BILLINGS — Hot and dry conditions Friday lead to wind and stormy conditions by the evening. The real heat is yet to come.
Ahead of a cold front, temperatures will hit the mid to upper 90s Friday as the humidity drops. Clouds will increase ahead of the front in the afternoon, and winds could gust to around 40 mph.
Isolated thunderstorms will develop during the evening. These will be mainly dry storms with wind gusts of 60 mph possible. Some showers and thunderstorms will reach the ground during the evening and overnight hours tapering off Saturday morning.
Temperatures cool back to seasonal averages, hitting mainly the 80s for the highs Saturday, Sunday and Monday. A few stray showers and thunderstorms will develop.
By the middle of next week, highs could hit upper 90s to triple digits.
