BILLINGS — We yo-yo between hot temperatures and a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Heat is on Wednesday, with highs hitting the 80s to low 90s despite increasing clouds. A cold front by the afternoon and evening will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms across the area from west to east.
Areas especially to the west and north of Billings could see some strong storms Wednesday evening with gusty erratic winds, small hail, and areas of heavy rain are possible. Wind is the number one threat.
Showers and thunderstorms will be scattered around the area Thursday with a highs in the 70s to low 80s. We return to the hot and dry conditions with the highs in the 80s Friday to mid 90s on Saturday.
A period of cooler in unsettled weather returns with scattered showers on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Wednesday… Increasing clouds with a high near 91. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
Wednesday night… A chance of late afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms that could produce strong winds. A low near 63.
Thursday… Mix of clouds and sun and scattered area showers and weak thunderstorms. Close to 79 for the high temperature.
