BILLINGS — Here come the winds yet again.
The gradient will tighten up around an area of high pressure sliding to our southwest and that will kick up wind gusts between 55-65 mph today with peak winds likely sometime in the afternoon to early evening, especially over the mountains and Beartooth Foothills to include Livingston, Big Timber, and Harlowton. Gusts could push in excess of 35 mph in Billings. Winds should lessen a bit later tonight, but look to pick up briefly Friday morning before finally easing up as a cold front pushes through Friday.
The cold front will bring a chance of snow for Billings and south-central Montana Saturday with a half inch to 1.5" of accumulation as it looks right now. Of course, those totals could change.
High pressure takes over on Sunday and aims to keep things mainly dry through the middle of next week.
Billings: Today will be windy with highs in the low 40s under mostly cloudy skies. Lows tonight in the mid 20s. Mostly cloudy on Friday with flurries late. Highs in the low 40s.
Sheridan: Mostly sunny with a high in the lower 40s today. Lows tonight in the teens under mostly cloudy skies. Partly cloudy on Friday with highs in the low 40s. Snow showers possible by late evening.
Keep smiling!
