Q2 Billings Area Weather: Lots of changes ahead

Posted
and last updated

Smoke is still around, but temperatures fluctuate, and storms come and go.

Thunderstorms produced areas of gusty winds Tuesday evening. Wednesday is shaping up to be much the same, with smoke and sun early and scattered storms with wind in the afternoon and evening.

Highs temperatures will reach the mid 80s to low 90s Wednesday and mainly 80s on Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and evening both days, but Thursday could see some stronger storms with strong winds and small hail as possibilities.

Dry will be dry and pleasant, with highs mainly in the mid-to-lower 80s. Smoke may start to decrease Friday.

Saturday will be hot and dry before a cold front brings a major shift to the weather Sunday through early next week. Highs will be in the 60s to mid 70s early next week.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… Mostly sunny early except for a smoky haze. High near 89. A chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms.

Wednesday night… Showers and thunderstorms in the area through the evening. Widespread haze from wildfire smoke. Low around 62.

Thursday… Partly cloudy with afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms possible that could produce strong winds.
