BILLINGS — Another day with the chance of thunderstorms Thursday before Friday and Saturday turn sunny and dry.
Clouds will increase through the day with Thursday afternoon highs into the 80s in the mountain foothills in the upper 90s in the Eastern Plains. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will move from the mountain foothills near Livingston to the Eastern Plains during the afternoon and evening hours.
Wind gusts of 30 to 50 mph are expected around thunderstorms. But as we saw around Red Lodge and in areas of Northern Wyoming on Wednesday, hail is possible as well.
Friday will be dry and sunny with high temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s. Saturday will be the hottest day in the short term, with highs well into the 90s with some triple digits possible.
Expect some increase in wildfire smoke Thursday.
The overall trend will be somewhat cooler and more unsettled next week. By Wednesday, highs will slip into the 80s with scattered isolated showers and thunderstorms.
