Q2 Billings Area Weather: Possible severe storms this weekend

BILLINGS — The weekend holds potential for warm days to severe storms to mountain snow.

Warmer readings will reach the 80s Friday and Saturday with breezy easterly winds Friday. The easterly winds will help hold humidity values up.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings. Any that form could be strong to severe.

While storms could produce heavy rain, there will not be many today. Saturday will start out warm in the 50s, with temperatures in the 85 to 95 degree range by early afternoon. A disturbance will bring scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms by mid afternoon, with some strong to severe storms mainly east of Billings.

Much cooler conditions with periods of rain and mountain snow develops Sunday through Tuesday.

Billing forecast:

Friday... Sunny to mostly sunny with a high near 85.

Friday night... Increasing clouds with a low of about 62.

Saturday... Partly to mostly cloudy early with a chance of afternoon showers or a thunderstorm. The chance of storms increases through the evening and overnight.
