Q2 Billings Area Weather: Showers and thunderstorms around

BILLINGS — The chance of showers and thunderstorms increases Thursday.

Thursday will be more active, was showers and thunderstorms in the area. Some storms could produce pockets of heavy rain, gusty winds, and hail.

The most active weather Thursday is expected East of Billings, closer to the Dakotas. But hit and miss showers and thunderstorms are possible across the region.

High temperatures will be mainly in the mid-70s to mid 80s Thursday and Friday. Expect more sun and dry conditions on Friday afternoon.

A spike in the temperatures will push us back into the mid to lower 90s on Saturday with sunshine. A significant cold front will drive temperatures down to the 60s on Sunday. Many of the warmest readings could occur in the morning.

Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms Sunday and Monday, with below average temperatures. Highs recover to the 70s on Tuesday, and we are on track for low 80s by Wednesday.

Thursday… A mix of clouds and sun and widespread smoky haze. A chance of showers and thunderstorms through the day and into the evening. High of about 84.

Thursday night… Scattered area showers and thunderstorms during the evening. Gradual clearing overnight with a low around 56.

Friday… Sunny with a high near 82.
