Q2 Billings Area Weather: Summer heat is here

Posted
and last updated

BILLINGS — Expect the hottest temperatures so far this summer during the week.

High temperatures Tuesday will be mainly in the 90s in most locations, and expect more upper 80s and 90s well into next week. Wednesday will be the hottest day, with readings from Billings eastward as warm as the low 100s.

A few isolated storms will develop close to the mountains Tuesday, with a slight daily chance for at least isolated late day thunderstorms with gusty winds until further notice. That will bring the potential for wildfire starts.

Highs will be mainly in the mid-80s to mid-90s starting Thursday, with the 20 to 30 percent chance of a shower thunderstorm each afternoon and evening. Otherwise, expect mainly clear skies and light winds.

Billings forecast:

Tuesday… Sunny with a light wind. A high near 91.

Mostly clear with a low of around 63.

Wednesday… Hot. Mainly sunny with a high close to 100.
