Wednesday is cool and wet, with warmer and drier conditions for the weekend.

A storm system moving from Idaho toward Manitoba will bring showers and clouds across the area today. Showers will favor Billings westward. There will be showers across Southeast Montana, rain totals will be lower. However, the slow-moving system will produce pockets of heavy rain from time-to-time.

High temperatures Wednesday will be mainly in the 50s and 60s with some 70s in extreme Eastern Montana and through northern Wyoming. Expect a cloudy to mostly cloudy day.

Mountain snow will affect the Beartooth Pass through Thursday morning. In general, showers will wind down through Thursday.

Temperatures will warm steadily heading toward the weekend, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s by Saturday and Sunday.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… Cloudy to mostly cloudy with showers and isolated thunderstorms. A high of about 59.

Wednesday night… Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 49.

Thursday… A mix of clouds and sun with showers possible. High close to 66.
