BILLINGS — Wind highlights Tuesday’s weather, and warm is the word for Wednesday and Thursday.
Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts of 45 to 55 mph will blow across southern Montana and northern Wyoming Tuesday. The strongest winds will occur east of Billings.
With generally lots of sun, high temperatures will be mainly in the 60s. A few sprinkles could occur in the eastern plains. Winds will rapidly drop off in early evening, and temperatures slide to the upper 30s and 40s overnight.
With a lot less wind, plenty of sun, and a strong high pressure ridge, highs on Wednesday will reach the 70s and some low 80s. Thursday starts off the same, but a cold front Thursday evening shifts us into a pattern of somewhat cooler weather with showers and afternoon thunderstorms more frequently.
We are tracking a potential weather maker that could bring cooler and much wetter conditions to the area by late in the weekend. Check back as details become clearer.
