BILLINGS — A bit more winter-like with snow and wind.

A band of snow has been moving across eastern Montana on Sunday night through Monday. Another disturbance Monday will cause strong wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph with stronger gusts in the Big Timber to Judith Gap areas.

As an upper low spins across southeast Montana on Monday afternoon through early Tuesday, expect snow and blowing snow. Winds will decrease in the mountain foothills, however. Two to 5 inches of snow is expected in southeast Montana and the northeast facing mountain slopes could get 5 to 10 inches.

Snow exits early Tuesday with a sunny afternoon to follow.

Highs Monday will reach the 30s to low 40s, with lows in the upper teens and low 20s. Tuesday will be mainly mid-to-lower 30s for highs.

Billings forecast:

Monday… Partly cloudy with a high near 41. Westerly wind gusts could peak near 50 mph.

Monday night… Light snow in the area with increasing clouds. Still gusty in the evening but decreasing overnight. Low of about 21.

Tuesday… Sunny to mostly sunny with the high around 36.
