BILLINGS — An unsettled weekend ahead brings off-and-on showers and temperatures dropping each day.
A series of disturbances will be pulled through the area through the weekend and into the middle of next week. Each will bring at least some chance of showers to a portion of our area, and high temperatures Friday in the mid 60s to 50s will slip to the 40s by the middle of the coming week.
A weather system in the mountains early Friday will slip into the foothills and then plains through the day. This will bring shower and possibly some thunderstorms favoring areas to the west of Billings.
Some rain and snow showers will occur overnight as lows slip to the 30s.
A stronger wave that slips across the Dakotas on Saturday producing showers from Billings to the east. High temperatures slip from as warm as the mid-60s Friday to mainly 50s Saturday.
There are still a lot of questions about next week’s outlook, but the trend is cool and wetter by Tuesday and Wednesday.
Billings forecast:
Friday… Mostly to partly sunny with a high of about 63. Light variable wind. A chance of an afternoon shower and a slight chance of some thunder.
Friday night… Increasing clouds with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as the low slips to around 39.
Saturday… A morning showers is possible, otherwise sunny to mostly sunny. Near 58 for the high.
