BILLINGS — On the cool side, but still dry

As a weak disturbance passes through the region Saturday evening with just a slight chance for snow showers, overnight lows will fall mainly into the single digits to the teens.

A powerful storm system moving east toward the US central plains will, for the most part, miss most of south central and southeastern Montana and northern Wyoming tonight and Sunday.

Locally, tomorrow, more sunshine is expected along with cool afternoon highs – many below freezing.

Some patchy fog will likely develop tonight and early Sunday in places like Broadus, Forsyth, Hardin, Miles City and Sheridan.

Gusty winds are expected to pick up in the upper Yellowstone Valley Monday into New Year’s Day.
