BILLINGS — If you love snow and cold, you are going to hate this weekend.
Warmer than average temperatures will continue through the weekend and well into next week. Highs for the lower elevations will remain in the 40s with some low 50s through at least Monday.
Winds in the mountain foothills areas around Livingston/Nye will gust to 40 to 50 mph Friday and Saturday. Expect generally light winds elsewhere, although southeast Montana could be breezy Saturday afternoon.
A Canadian disturbance brings mainly mountain snow and maybe some sprinkles or a shower Friday night through Saturday morning. More disturbances will keep the mainly mountain snow showers going.
For the most part, quiet conditions continue well into next week. There are some indications strong winds could develop by next weekend.
Billings forecast:
Friday… Decreasing clouds with a high near 49. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph.
Friday night… Partly to mostly cloudy and dipping to about 33 for a mild overnight low.
Saturday… Partly sunny early with more sun by the afternoon. Close to 51 for the high.
