BILLINGS — Overall a quiet and mild week. The exception: Northeastern Montana.
High temperatures will be mainly the 30s through southern Montana and northern Wyoming on Tuesday with clouds and breaks of sunshine. Winds will increase down the east mountain slopes around Livingston by Tuesday afternoon and become gusty Tuesday night through Wednesday.
Meantime, cold air remains in northeastern Montana from around the Fort Peck region extending into northwest North Dakota. That will hold daytime highs mainly into the single digits in teens with overnight lows slipping below zero in many locations through Wednesday.
Highs will hit mainly the upper 30s to 40s Wednesday through Friday through southern Montana with chillier air in northeast Montana continuing. Conditions remain generally dry but partly to mostly cloudy until closer to the weekend.
A few scattered showers could develop Friday through Saturday.
