BILLINGS — Changes are ahead but enjoy Monday.

Highs will be mainly in the 50s and likely reach 60 in a few places Monday, with a mix of sunshine and a few clouds. The foothills areas west of Billings will be breezy at times.

Scattered snow and rain showers move into the mountains Monday night and spread to the lower elevations across the eastern plains Tuesday. Highs downshift to the 40s to low 50s after a mild start in the morning.

As a cold front moves past Tuesday night through Wednesday, accumulating snow is likely. Most snow totals will run 1 to 3 inches in the lower elevations but bands of wet heavy snow of 6 to 9 inches are possible.

Warming and drying weather moves in for later in the week.

Billings forecast:

Monday… Mostly to partly sunny with a southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Highs near 59.

Monday night… Mostly cloudy early and mostly clear overnight with a low near 35.

Tuesday… Increasing clouds with an increasing chance of rain or snow early. Increasing chance of rain later in the day. Highs near 48.
