Q2 Weather: Fire weather arrives

Hot and dry conditions elevate wildfire concerns

BILLINGS — Sunny, hot and dry weather is expected across much of the state and region Tuesday and Wednesday.

Low humidity and highs in the 80s and 90s will trigger Red Flag Fire Warnings across much of central, west central and southwest Montana and Wyoming today from noon through tonight.

Slightly cooler temperatures arrive by Thursday.

There is a slight chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms in the Billings area Wednesday night and again Thursday night.

The forecast for Billings

Today: Sunny and hot with northwest winds 5 to 10 mph and a high of 92.

Tonight: Mostly clear, light southwest winds and a low of 61.

Wednesday: Sunny and hot with southwest winds 5 to 15 mph and a high of 93.
