BILLINGS — The warmest weather so far this year is Monday and Tuesday.
High temperatures will be mainly in the mid-70s to possibly the low 90s Monday and Tuesday. The warmest temperatures will be to the east of Billings.
More clouds and thunderstorms could develop with cooler temperatures closer to the mountains west of Billings. By Tuesday, areas west and north of Billings will see thunderstorms develop. Some of these storms could produce damaging winds or hail.
The eastern edge of Montana with the western Dakotas and northeast Wyoming have the best chance of severe storms this week, occurring Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Billings may be able to dodge much of the thunderstorm activity but also put south central Montana on track for a drier-than-average May.
Protect yourself from the heat and sun for the next few days.
