BILLINGS — At least the streets are dry for the moment in Billings Thursday afternoon. That's because the rain is finally stopped for little bit, but we could see more later in the day.
Right now, it's mostly cloudy and 63 degrees in Billings with a few sunbreaks here and there.
Billings wound up with another 0.8 inches of rain since midnight, added to yesterday's total, that takes us well over three-quarters of an inch of rain for a two-day total.
Around the rest of the state, our current temps are mostly into the 50s and 60s everywhere we look.
The thunderstorm outlook for Thursday shows isolated showers across southern Montana and northern Wyoming. The same is true for Friday.
The Doppler radar shows a northwesterly flow of air from Great Falls into the Billings area, which includes light showers. Those showers will continue to track into the southeast corner of the state.
The high-resolution forecast model shares that same opinion. The showers Thursday will come close to the Billings area, and we may get hit with a stray one or two by this evening.
On Friday morning, look for mostly dry conditions, but we won't see any more rain until about 6 p.m., when another wave of moisture moves through.
On Saturday, we are expecting mostly sunny skies early, but maybe some spotty showers later on Saturday night.
The computer estimates Billings might see another quarter-inch of rain over the weekend. Places like Bozeman and Livingston could pick up as much as half an inch.
We will continue to stay into the 60s for the rest of Thursday afternoon, then drop back down to the 40s in the morning and back up to 67 degrees at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
We will top out into the 70s on Friday and Saturday, then get into the 80s on Sunday through Wednesday, for afternoon highs.
