Q2 Weather: More rain, then sunshine

BILLINGS — Rain and mountain snow through Sunday.

A surface low pressure system to our east and an upper low to the south will continue to draw rain showers and mountain snow showers our way through Saturday night and into Sunday.

A Winter Weather Advisory for the Beartooth Absaroka Mountains remains in effect through Sunday.

Weekend snow totals above 6500 feet – especially along north facing slopes – will range from 6 to 12 inches accumulation.

The Beartooth Pass remains closed on both sides of the state line at least through Sunday morning.

By Sunday evening, weekend storm totals along the plains will range from a quarter of an inch to over an inch of rainfall.

The start of a warming trend – but with scattered showers – is on tap for Sunday with area highs moving into the 50s and 60s.

Sunny, dry and warmer weather is expected for Memorial Day Monday and into the work week.

Tonight: Cool with an 80% chance of rain, northwest winds 5 to 15 mph and a low of 40.

Sunday: A bit warmer with a 70% chance of morning rain, then afternoon showers, west winds 5 to 15 mph and a high of 56.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy with a low of 42.

Memorial Day Monday: Sunny and warmer with a high of 72.
