BILLINGS — Smoky, hot and sunny Tuesday.

Above average temperatures prevail across the Plains once again Tuesday with highs reaching into the upper 80s.

Thickening smoke is expected across the region today as well before cooler air from the northeast thins it out tomorrow.

Afternoon highs will remain above average through Saturday.

The next best chance for showers arrives this weekend.

Today: Sunny and hot, smoky, light west winds and a high of 88.

Tonight: Mostly clear, evening smoke, light northeast winds and a low of 51.

Wednesday: Sunny and cooler with morning smoke thinning to afternoon haze, northeast winds 5 to 15 mph and a high of 76.
