BILLINGS — The weekend looks overall quiet with wind and mountain showers being the biggest highlights.

Some snow showers are expected over the Beartooth and Absaroka Mountains overnight and could also affect the Crazy Mountains. Wind down the east mountain slopes should confine these showers to the higher terrain.

Expect mostly sunny days this weekend with above average temperatures reaching into the 50s Saturday to low-60s Sunday. Saturday will be breezy, with winds occasionally 15 to 25 mph over a broad area and stronger closer to the mountains.

Winds ease up Sunday but the temperatures warm even more. Overnight lows will be upper 20s to 30s in most places.

Monday remains warm for late March, but the winds pick back up. By Tuesday, colder air arrives creating wind and showers. The jury is out on midweek temperatures, but they will be colder.

Billings forecast:

Friday night… partly cloudy with a low near 33.

Saturday… Partly to mostly sunny with a high of about 54. Breezy periods at 15 to 25 mph.

Sunday and Monday… Sunny to partly sunny with highs both days around 61. Stronger winds Monday.
