BILLINGS — Winds back off as showers move in

High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories for counties west and north of Billings will begin to expire early Sunday evening.

Wind gusts in excess of 70 mph were recorded around the Livingston area Sunday. The Billings area saw wind gusts up to 50 mph at times Sunday afternoon.

As pressure gradients relax and winds die down, a passing cold front will bring a chance for showers and mountain snow showers Sunday night into Monday.

A cooling trend will limit afternoon highs in the area to the upper 30s and low 40s on Monday. Colder temps and potential accumulating snow is expected by Thanksgiving.

The forecast for Billings
Tonight: Partly cloudy, colder, west winds 15 to 25 mph decreasing late, a 30% chance of isolated showers and a low of 29.

Monday: Mostly sunny, cooler, a 20% chance of showers, light northwest winds and a high of 40.

Monday night: Mostly cloudy, a 20% chance of flurries and a low of 22.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy and colder with a 20% chance of showers and a high of 33.
