BILLINGS — Mostly Cloudy skies with cool temps and a cold rain is our Labor Day forecast in Billings. So far Billings has measured 0.25 inches of rain on Monday.
Our current temperature in Billings is 39 degrees. We have with a North wind at 9 mph. Light rain continues to fall.
Around the rest of the state our current temps are mostly to the 30s, 40s and 50s with most of the 30s right smack dab in the middle part of the state.
We currently have a Winter Storm Warning until noon tomorrow for most of the mountains. We could see anywhere from 10 to 15 inches of snow up in the higher elevations.
Plus, up in the Northwest corner the state. It's a Wind Advisory for winds gusting 30 to 50 mph. And finally, a Winter Weather Advisory across much of the mountains in Montana.
Snowfall amounts could range anywhere from 1 to 2 inches around Missoula, all the way up to 6 inches in the central part of the state.
The Beartooths foothills could see as much is 5 inches above the 6000-foot level.
The Doppler radar shows you were all the rain and snow is right now, it's a big massive storm that continues to slowly move from North to South.
The High-Resolution forecast model shows most of the storm will be moving into Wyoming later tonight around 10 p.m. Then we expect mostly sunny skies by the time Tuesday afternoon gets here.
That sunshine will extend over into Wednesday and temperatures will begin to slowly warm up.
However, for the rest of today. Our temperatures will continue to fall all the way back down into the 30s and eventually back up to the 40s about 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
We will top out at 52 on Tuesday, get into the 60s on Wednesday and Thursday, eventually we get back into the low-80s over the weekend.
