BILLINGS — Severe thunderstorms are possible east of Billings.
A slight risk of severe thunderstorms is in play for Sunday afternoon and evening for portions of eastern Montana.
The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted an area from a line between northeast Yellowstone County and central Bighorn County eastward.
Billings is not included in the watch zone.
Large hail and damaging winds are the biggest threat with these storms.
Near record hot afternoon highs will give way to a passing cold front Sunday evening, allowing for warm – but not as hot – weather Monday and Tuesday.

Monday: Sunny and not as hot with east winds 5 to 15 mph and a high of 82.
Monday night: Partly cloudy, a 20% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms and a low of 57.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny and a bit cooler with a 20% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms and a high of 78.
