Q2 Weather: Spring rain and snow highlight the week

BILLINGS — Warming but storming as the week goes on.

Monday promises the chilliest temperatures, with highs mainly in the 40s in southern Montana and northern Wyoming with some 50s in northeast Montana. Highs edge up each day, reaching the 70s by Sunday.

The bigger story during the week will be the chance of rain and snow showers across the area through the week, dropping off for the weekend. Some of the lower elevations will see some snow mixed in early Monday and Tuesday.

The region should see mainly showers, but Friday does hold more potential for heavier rain overall. The foothills could see 1 to 2 inches of snow the next couple of mornings with up to a half foot of mountain snow.

The best bet for dry weather starts Saturday, with Sunday on track for very warm and dry conditions.

Billings weather:

Monday… Rain showers, with possibly a little snow mixed in during the morning. High near 42.

Monday night… Area rain showers with possible rain/snow mix by earl Tuesday. About 37 for the low.

Tuesday… Cloudy to mostly cloudy with rain showers. Around 57 for the high.
