Q2 Weather: Spring snow on the way

BILLINGS — Winter Weather Advisories for much of the region.

Cooler temperatures have moved in ahead of a Pacific cold front.

Showers and breezy conditions will increase across much of the area today, changing to wet snow Tuesday evening.

Winter Weather Advisories have been posted for much of Montana west and north of Billings.

A Winter Storm Warning for the Beartooth/Absaroka Mountains is posted through Friday morning.

The best chance for accumulating snow – 2 to 4 inches likely – will be Wednesday night through midday Thursday. Expect hazardous travel conditions during that time frame.

The forecast for Billings

Today: Cooler with a 70% chance of rain showers, west winds 5 to 15 mph and a high of 48.

Tonight: Colder with an 80% chance of rain to snow – an inch or less accumulation possible – with northwest winds 10 to 20 mph and a low of 24.

Wednesday: Colder with a 70% chance of snow – an inch or less accumulation – with northeast winds 10 to 20 mph and a high of 30.
