BILLINGS — Stormy weather is in the Billings area.

A trough of low pressure with an associated cold front will trigger isolated showers and thunderstorms Wednesday evening through Thursday evening.

These thunderstorms will likely have gusty winds and could bring brief heavy rainfall.

Potentially severe thunderstorms could pop up in southeast Montana – mainly east of Billings - Thursday afternoon with damaging wind, large hail and brief heavy rain.

Mild afternoon highs Thursday and Friday will be bumped by pre-frontal heat on Saturday.

By Sunday, another incoming cold front will usher in much cooler weather for at least several days.
