BILLINGS — Rangeland Wildfire Danger today.
High pressure ridging across much of the western U.S. will bring mostly sunny skies to the region through the rest of the forecast period.
Compression heating ahead of an approaching cold front will kick afternoon highs into the low 80s across the plains.
Relative humidity values will drop in portions of eastern Montana while winds pick up a bit. As a result, Rangeland Wildfire Danger is elevated Tuesday afternoon from northeast Montana to south central Montana and westward.
In the wake of the cold front, northerly winds will cool daytime highs back into the 60s on Wednesday.
