Q2 Weather: The real heat is coming

Posted
and last updated

Temperatures will be a little cooler than average Monday, but we cannot say that for the rest of the week.

Highs will be mainly in the mid to lower 80s Monday, close to 5 degrees below the seasonal average. Most of the area will be sunny to partly sunny with occasional brisk winds.

There is a chance of strong thunderstorms closer to the Montana/Wyoming state line Monday, with a few becoming strong to severe. Gusty winds are the biggest threat with any afternoon storms.

Warm temperatures build into the area with afternoon highs Tuesday in the upper 80s to mid 90s, and upper 90s to low 100s by Wednesday. Highs will stay mainly in the 90s for the rest of the week with scattered to isolated showers and thunderstorms favoring the afternoons and evenings.

Billings forecast:

Monday… Mainly sunny with an afternoon high of about 83. West breeze becomes northerly in the afternoon.

Monday night… Mostly clear with a low near 57.

Tuesday… Sunny and very warm with a high close to 92.
