BILLINGS — Temperatures take a little roller coaster ride in a generally quiet week.
Behind the weekend snow, be mindful that patches of freezing fog and some slick conditions could linger Monday morning. Otherwise it is a quiet but chilly start to the week with decreasing morning clouds and a light wind.
With highs only in the 20s to low 30s Monday, low slip to single digits and teens early Tuesday. By the afternoon, Tuesday reading will reach the 40s to even some 50s, closer to mid-March averages.
Late Tuesday through Thursday, expect the temperatures to drop once more to mainly the 30s. Some snow will develop for the mountains and foothills, with at least a chance of rain or snow in the lower elevations.
The current trend is warmer and drier for the weekend.
Billings forecast:
Monday… Mostly sunny with a high near 31. Light variable wind.
Monday night… Partly cloudy with a low of about 15.
Tuesday… Mostly sunny with a variable breeze. High close to 48.
