BILLINGS — A Warm and breezy Wednesday
With mid-December daytime highs averaging around 35 degrees, today and Thursday will be on the warm side reaching into the 40s.
A Wind Advisory is in effect through 3 p.m. Wednesday. Gap winds of up to 60 mph will pick up again today mainly west of Billings, especially in the upper Yellowstone Valley and the Stillwater Valley.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect tonight through early Friday morning for the west-facing slopes of the Beartooth/Absarokas, including Cooke City.
Twelve to 18 inches of snow is possible along with blowing snow and 45 mph wind gusts within the watch area.
Meanwhile, above average afternoon highs will stick around for much of south central and southeast Montana through the forecast period. Unsettled weather will produce a slight chance for showers late in the week.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, southwest winds 10 to 20 mph and a low of 27.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy, southwest winds 10 to 20 mph and a high of 46.
