BILLINGS — A strong jet well above the area will bring wind to the surface with a few rain and snow showers. That will highlight the weather for most of the week.
Strong winds in the western foothills near Livingston and Nye will gust to 50 to 60 mph, with 40 to 50 mph gusts forecast near Big Timber and Harlowton over the next several days. Even the plains could see 40 to 50 mph gusts occasionally.
With mix of clouds and sun, high temperatures will reach the 40s to lower 50s Monday and upper 40s to upper 50s Tuesday.
Showers will be generally light, and favor areas east of Billings with some mountain snow.
Warming continues later this week with a near record high for Billings possible by Saturday.

Monday… Variable clouds with a high near 51. West wind 15 to 25 mph with stronger gusts.
Monday night… Increasing clouds with a low near 35. Breezy.
Tuesday… Mostly sunny and around 56. Increasing afternoon winds with gusts to 45 mph possible.
